Why Three Worlds

My fascination with the brain and how it works kept leading me into knowledge that was transformational for me, and ultimately led to the name of the business. We largely take that massive, beautiful organ for granted so long as it does it's job and remembers where we left our phone in decent time. The truth is that understanding how it does it's job can change your life. We love thinking that we are observing all of objective reality and then forming thoughts and opinions from what we see.

The brain is far more clever than that.

The brain is a phenomenal mystery, but it can't process everything. Apart from obvious biological limitations, it's also just a massive waste of energy to process every bit of reality all around you. You wouldn't be able to function. So the brain must filter reality, but how? How does it know what you care about and need to see? Your thoughts. Especially the ingrained thought-habits you've had for a while. Your thoughts act as filters, allowing in only those bits of reality that fit them. It blends this with our memories and experience before providing a picture of reality to us for evaluation, like an enormous, shifting, intricate stained glass window. This is what you see in your mind. Not true reality.

Knowing that your "reality" is a distorted, curated picture can be a hard pill to swallow at times, but this structure is not only critical to keeping us sane, it's also entirely within our control. Imagine you see the world through limited glasses that you can't take off, BUT you can change their magnification, focus, filtering and color at will. Incredible? Yes. Disastrous if left on auto-pilot? Also yes.

This is where I fit in.

I study and train on the kinds of questions that pull back the curtain, showing you what your mind is doing and how that is impacting your life. If this is not intentional (it's usually not), we do the work to put you back in the drivers' seat. This is crucial especially when you are trying to reinvent, because wow, the survival-side of the brain does not like unknowns and risk. It will offer very persuasive thoughts that changing is stupid and impossible and what could you possibly have to offer anyways, filtering your reality to all the evidence matching those thoughts, resulting in you heading straight for the couch with some snacks and netflix.

This has massive impact on your life and is extremely hard to see when you are "in it." Having someone trained in this work to hold up a mirror and show you what your mind is creating can mean the difference between sleep-walking and living the fullest life you are capable of.
